My dream job

  I have 2 dreams jobs that are very related, one of them is to be Orchestra Director and the second one is to have a conservatory of Music.  I want to be Orchestra Director because I really love classical music, especially the sinfonie repertoire, to me is the most expressive music, some people think that classical music is boring or monotonous, but it is quite the opposite, you can hear music that is aggressive, quickly and heavy like metal music or in the contrary you can hear music so delicate and beautiful that can make you cry, but definitely what I love most is the sound you can have, you can have so many colors and textures without any electronic device, only with instruments played by human beings. The second dream job is to have a conservatory of Music because I've always wanted to provide a better education system and approach than the one in Chile, which is very generalized, causing the individual learning process that each student can have to be lost. The best concert I've ever had

  The best concert I've ever had is definitely The Second Symphony "Resurrection" of Gustav Mahler in the Municipal Theater. The concert was December 11 of last year and I went with my father. As you can see in the picture, I was in the first seats, so I can see everything. This symphony is one of the most famous of the Bohemian composer Gustav Mahler, this work requires a big orchestra, a choir and two soloists.  This work talks about very deep topics such as life after death or resurrection (hence the name of the work). This symphony left me with a very special feeling that I still have, it’s a beautiful memory that I will always have.

Norway

The country that I would like to visit is Norway because I really like the landscape and the weather. I know that is a Nordic country in the northern of Europe in the Scandinavian peninsula and his capital is Oslo.  In Norway I would like to see and hear the Oslo philharmonic and the Norwegian radio orchestra. I’d like to do isbading  that is ice bathing, consist to dive in cold water for a few second.  I would like to live and work there because I want to travel near from there, like Russia and Finland.

The website that I regularly visit is Teoria.com. This website is made to study music theory, ear training and articles. I use it almost every day to study intervals and rhythmic dictation. I like it because it is perfect to improve your musical skills especially when you are studying music theory and also to revise or remember old content. This page was created in 1997 by José Rodríguez Alvira, he is a teacher of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, therefore his page has a profesional standard.

My favorite food

 My favorite food is bistec a lo pobre that consiste of meat, eggs french fry and fry onion. Is a typical food in chile and I like it very much because I really like meat and French fry, the only I don’t like is the fry onions because I don’t like the flavor. Bistec a lo pobre can be nutritive or can be harmful to your health, if you eat 70g, two eggs and no more of 15 French fries you shouldn’t have problem with your health, but  Bistec a lo pobre almost never is serve with that’s portion therefore it can be bad to your health especially in Chile because here the restaurants make the dish with a hundred of french fries and 500g of meat.  If you are in Chile you must eat this food, to me this dish should be national heritage like completo and empanada.

My fav gadget

 My favorite gadget is the Kindle because it’s so useful and practice. I don’t have one but it’s really cool, you can have hundreds of books and pdf’s without having to buy them and the best part is that you don’t need to carry a lot of paper and books everywhere. Another characteristic is that it imitates real paper so at the moment of reading the screen doesn’t burn your eyes. In my opinion the Kindle is an useful gadget especially for students. The only that I don’t like of the kindle is that is an electronic device and depends of the electric energy therefore is not a safe place to save important books or documents. Well that was my review of the Kindle I hope you animate buy one, for the moment I have to read from the computer or print the text that I need to read.

Why did I choose my major?

 I choose this major because I really like music but when I was a child I wanted to be a scientist like physics os astronomer but the music chose me so I abandoned those plans. My experience in this university is really good specially with the teaches and my my partners, but what I enjoy the most from here is the practice room because I concentrate better than in my house. In the future I would like to compose music or to be an orchestra director because I really like classical music music, specially from the end of the 19th century, and beginning of the 20th. Also I would like to learn oriental music because it is so different and I think that ethnic music would be more important in the future.
